Having co-produced with Peter Gordeno & Irving Davies, (two of the cruise industry’s legendary British producers) Jon Barker, BASA’s founder set about devising and producing his own innovative and stylish brand of shows.

Style, glamour, fun and ‘musical & visual wow factors’ are at the heart of BASA’s unique product.

Each show is carefully crafted and tailored to the demographic of the audience and the technical capabilities of the showroom/theatre.

Special ‘brand’ shows have been commissioned, written and produced for MV Discovery, MV Crown Odyssey & MV Marco Polo.

After 4 years as resident headline entertainer on board QE2, Jon, BASA's founder realises the importance of finding talented casts who can not only consistently perform to their best on stage, but who can live and work together within the confines of a cruise ship.

BASA differs from many entertainment companies by providing if required the entire entertainment department to a ship.

From sourcing and supplying all musicians, DJ’s, cruise staff, technicians, headline acts as well as the singers and dancers for the shows. Many ship managements like having this single point of contact for their entertainment department.

BASA provided the whole entertainment package to MV Gripsholm, MV Astor, MV Crown Odyssey, MV Discovery and to the multi-award winning Orient Lines’ flagship MV Marco Polo.

BASA’s skills are also in demand on land as well as sea, devising and producing corporate events at, amongst others, the Lanesborough Hotel, Celtic Manor and an African Extravaganza at The Natural History Museum.

BASA continues to go from strength to strength, writing and producing music for Sky TV, producing a new musical, ‘The Road to Celebrity,’ and working with various companies creating and writing shows.
